hello rex
Mood:  quizzical
Topic: research
well, rex, to answer your question about cybernetic augmentations, rex, yes, i know quite a bit about it. much of it is based off my patented nanotech(which arent your average nanobots, i assure you). however, i disagree completely with the usage of the cyber-augs. . . the military and its contractors have a perpetual supplies of 'volunteers' from the armed forces, since we are constantly immersed in some kind of war. after these poor young men get their limbs blown off(or worse), the armed forces sends a med-evac fully equipped with cyber-augs. they stabilize the injured soldiers, drug them up, and explain the 'benefits' of getting cyber-aug limb replacement. ive even heard of young men getting cyber-aug limb replacement without ever being injured in the first place! to make it more ridiculous and a bit frightening, all branches of the armed forces are already setting in place plans that will establish cyber-aug divisions! this is ridiculous.

sure you realize the surface problem here, which is the fact that many of our soldiers are thousands of times stronger than their opponents and are thus susceptible to ego-trips. there are countless thousands of reports of soldiers abusing their new abilities, and there are an even greater amount of cases in which cyber-augmented soldiers die from over-exerting themself. the cyber-aug limbs might allow a person to lift 2000 pounds or jump 30 feet, but the rest of that human body is not built for that sort of stress. ill let you imagine the results for yourself. . .

there are also several studies which point to possible cerebral disruption. you see, the artificial nerve networks in the cyber-augs interface with the remaining human tissue, but it also sort of bores into the body and anchors itself on the human frame.
some have put forth the FACT that these nanobots were altered by the military so that they directly interface with the GPSID in every soldiers brain. others have gone so far as to say that cyber-aug technology can receive 'silent commands' from an outside source, making the host vulnerable to 'hacking'. i personally believe that the cyber-augs are completely faulty, since the aspect of humanity is integrated in an unsafe way . . . humans arent in a position to wield such abilities without abuse.

this is why androids are far superior to any cyber-aug.

anyhow, rex, where have YOU been, my friend? certainly it has been a long time since ive posted, but this has been a chaotic week, since i am very close to finishing prometheus 09. you see, wyles has been on my ass about it, so im thinking i will be done with it before wednesday. these next few days will be hard . . . i have jury duty tuesday, then i have phil reynolds mothers funeral wednesday, and sometime in between then i have to go to the viewing of the body.

so, rex, have you talked with john wyles lately?
